The Philippines' largest pork producers group, the Pork Producers Federation of the Philippines, Inc. (PPFPI), has launched a nationwide campaign urging consumers to support local pork over imported pork due to falling farm-gate prices and rising production costs. The campaign, 'MasMalinis, MasMasarap ang Sariwa! Eat Pinoy Pork ~ TatakFresh!', is a response to the influx of cheaper imported pork, which has led to low demand for locally produced pork and increased challenges for local hog farmers. The PPFFI attributes the situation to both low demand and the government's promotion of imported pork through its 'Presyong Risonable Dapat (PRD) Program: Frozen Meat Edition'.
