The poultry sector in Egypt has the capability to export between 700 thousand to one million chicks and one billion eggs annually, according to Abdel Aziz Al-Sayed, head of the poultry division of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce. However, government support is necessary to open export markets for Egyptian products. The industry is already approved to export 20 thousand chicks to Ghana and six million table eggs to Libya. The increased demand has led to a rise in the price of white poultry and chicks.
