The Konya Metropolitan Municipality in Turkey has distributed 52 thousand kilograms of certified alfalfa seeds to farmers in 156 neighborhoods across 31 districts, with a 50 percent grant of 1.3 million liras. This initiative aims to address the roughage deficit for livestock and stimulate rural development. The municipality has already distributed 290 thousand kilograms of Hungarian vetch seeds to 1,514 farmers. In total, 30 thousand tons of roughage are expected to be produced from planting on 8,700 decares of land. The municipality will also be distributing walnut, semi-dwarf apple, vine, sage, thyme, aronia, and almond seedlings in the coming days.
