The Deputy Minister of Planning and Economic Affairs of Iran's Ministry of Agricultural Jihad has lifted the ban on rice imports, allowing the clearance of rice from customs and warehouses and the registration of new import orders. The decision aims to address the market shortage and false price increase of rice during the ban, and is expected to decrease the high prices of both foreign and quality Iranian rice in the market. The Iranian Rice Producers and Suppliers Association has suggested a system of limiting orders to meet the country's annual rice needs, and recommended a 20% increase in the ordered amount to ensure market stability and competition.
