Oregano producers from the Multiple Oregano Farmers Association Tutupaca, located in the Cairani district, Candarave province, Tacna region, will modernize their oregano production thanks to equipment allocation from the Competitive Fund Procompite of the Tacna Regional Government.
With a total investment of S/382,708, the delivery will directly benefit 11 associated farming families, led by President Julio Mamani Mamani, and will allow productivity improvement on more than 16 hectares of oregano.
The delivered goods include cargo tricycles, motorized sprayers, a polyethylene water tank, and motorized brush cutters. Additionally, specialized technical assistance will be provided. All of this will allow them to move beyond manual production.
"Before, it was very difficult due to manual labor and because we did not have modern equipment. Now, with this support, we will improve the quality of our oregano and reach new markets," commented Julio Mamani Mamani, president of the association.
