Production of stone fruits expected to rise in Tunisia

São Paulo – Production of stone fruits is expected to rise in Tunisia. The Arab country is estimated to produce 295,000 tonnes in 2022, against 285,000 tonnes the previous year, up 3.5%. The increase is due to favorable climate conditions, according to data from the Interprofessional Fruit Grouping (GIFruits) received by Tunisia’s state news agency TAP. Production of peaches and nectarines is estimated at 156,000 tonnes this season, compared to 152,000 tonnes last season. Apricots production will reach 37,400 tonnes while that of plums will amount to 20,100 tonnes, up 8.7% compared to last year. As for almonds, their production will reach 69.5 thousand tons, against 65.7 thousand tons last year, a year-on-year increase of 5.8%.
