The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Mexico has introduced the Chocolata Clam Fishery Management Plan, aimed at sustainable fishing of the chocolate clam. The plan, which will be updated every three years, outlines actions, management indicators, and actors for its implementation. The Ministry will verify compliance with the plan, along with other federal, state, and municipal agencies. The plan is supported by the National Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture (Inapesca) and the National Commission for Aquaculture and Fisheries (Conapesca).
