(Chungju=Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Hyeong-woo = On the 3rd, Chungju City in North Chungcheong Province announced that it has partnered with Hyundai Green Food, a comprehensive food company under the Hyundai Department Store Group, to introduce meal menus utilizing local agricultural products.
Hyundai Green Food plans to provide menus made with cabbage and radishes from Chungju to over 600 group meal service sites nationwide for a month this month.
The city will connect cabbage and radish farming households to Hyundai Green Food and will conduct a promotional campaign for the regional representative rice brand, "Jungwon Jinmi," targeting meal service site customers.
The city and Hyundai Green Food signed a business cooperation agreement last month on 30th, which includes joint collaboration for agricultural product promotion and distribution expansion, and consulting for the discovery and commercialization of excellent agricultural specialties.
Mayor Jo Gil-hyeong said, "This collaboration will be an important stepping stone for Chungju agricultural products to enter a broader consumer market" and "through mutual prosperity with the company, we will increase the competitiveness of agricultural products and farmers' income."
