The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has created a scientific committee (Order APA/1387/202) to advise on the outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) in Spain. This group was created a week after the detection of the first positive cases in wild boars in Cerdanyola del Vallès (Barcelona), and to date, the disease has been detected in 13 wild boars. This permanent and advisory working group will remain operational as long as the outbreak, detected in the province of Barcelona on November 28, persists. It will be chaired by the Secretary-General of Agricultural Resources and Food Safety, Ana Rodríguez Castaño, and will include representatives from the scientific community in the fields of veterinary and livestock.
