254 families start raising gamitana and carp in San Juan del Oro, Peru

In seeking to meet the demands of the population of the Tambopata valley, the National Commission for Development and Life without Drugs (Devida) in alliance with the District Municipality of San Juan del Oro in the province of Sandia (Puno), began the breeding of tropical fish for the benefit of 254 families in 15 sectors of the aforementioned district. For this, Devida transferred a budget of 700 thousand soles for the execution of the activity "Training and technical assistance of the value chain of sustainable alternative products in aquaculture", which will allow the implementation of 25 modules of tropical species such as gamitana and carp.
