Purchase prices for sunflower seeds in Ukraine are growing amid increasing demand for oil

Increasing exports of sunflower oil and meal through the Black Sea ports led to an increase in purchase prices for sunflower in Ukraine. But on the world market, strong competition for Ukrainian oil comes from Russian oil, which over the past few years has occupied the traditional Ukrainian markets of China and India. Over the week, demand prices for sunflower increased by 500-800 UAH/t to 14,500-15,000 UAH/t with delivery to the plant, but producers are holding back sales in anticipation of further price increases. Export demand for Ukrainian sunflower remains low due to a ban on supplies to neighboring EU countries, but demand prices for DAP - Bulgaria have increased to $420-430/t.
