Peru: PURITA, the new Girolando calf with high genetic quality

The National Institute of Agrarian Innovation (INIA) has made “Purita”, the new calf of the Girolando breed with high genetic capacity, available to ranchers in the Amazon and north coast of the country. This specimen was born through biotechnology reproduction techniques promoted by INIA through the Livestock Area and within the framework of the Promegnational project. For this purpose, he has carried out crossbreeding work in 2017 between Holstein and Gyr cattle breeds.
