The Brazilian mango industry has achieved a historic high in exports in 2023, generating nearly 315 million dollars, a significant increase from the previous record in 2021. This growth is attributed to the industry's focus on quality, internationalization, and the expansion of mango varieties appealing to international markets, especially in North America, Europe, and Asia. Despite facing challenges such as high costs and low sales prices, the industry remains optimistic, aiming to produce higher brix degree fruits and promoting fibre-free varieties like Kent and Keitt. Efforts to create a native quality mark for Brazilian mango and initiatives in environmental management are enhancing the global competitiveness of Brazilian mangoes. The National Mango Board's marketing programs in the United States have also played a crucial role in increasing demand for mangoes, contributing to the sector's success.
