Quarantine measures have been enforced in the Dzau region of South Ossetia following an African swine fever (ASF) outbreak in the village of Sinagur, near the Georgian border. The Ministry of Agriculture has banned the export of animals and agricultural products and is conducting multi-stage disinfection. Private farm owners are advised to confine pigs and adhere to veterinary guidelines. Preventive measures are deemed safe for other animals, and pet owners in other regions should monitor for disease symptoms. ASF, first recorded in South Ossetia in 2007, does not pose a threat to humans.
