After experiencing significant losses from freezing raspberries in the 2022/23 season, local freezers in Central Asia have hesitantly resumed their interest in the berry for the 2023/24 season. Despite challenges in both the volume and quality of production, Tajikistan has been more active in the berry business and plans to make regular wholesale purchases of fresh raspberries for freezing. The average price for raspberries in Tajikistan this season was approximately $1.3 US dollars per kg, and Tajik raspberries are exported to Uzbekistan at a volume of approximately 20 tons per day. Uzbek freezers are currently exporting their finished products to the Russian market at about $2 per kg.
