In April, Brazil's early cocoa bean harvest showed a significant increase of 44.6% compared to March, reaching 11,912 tons, and a 92.8% increase compared to the same period in 2021, with total receipts at 40,842 tons. Despite a 27.5% decrease in crushing in April, the outlook for the year remains positive due to improved domestic production. Import volumes for processing and serving international customers fell by 49.9% in April compared to the previous year, reflecting the increase in local production. Derivatives exports also saw a decrease of 34.5% in April compared to March. The global scenario showed a depreciation in cocoa futures in April, but with chocolate market reports showing growth in net sales, there may be a potential resumption in demand for almonds.
