New Zealand's red meat exports in October saw a significant increase, with a 244% rise in exports to Italy compared to the same period in 2021. The total red meat export value for the month was $737 million, a 6% increase year-on-year, with China being the largest market. There was a notable 37% increase in the value of hides and skins, and a 38% increase in the value of casings and tripe. However, the export volume and value of sheepmeat and beef have decreased by 6% compared to 2021. The Meat Industry Association is closely monitoring the Chinese market due to potential demand changes.
