Reed harvesting has begun at Lake Eber

Reed harvesting has begun at Lake Eber, with crop yields decreasing by approximately 70% compared to previous years, primarily due to the lake's drying up and surrounding wildfires. One of the most important lakes in the Aegean Region, Lake Eber, located in the Bolvadin district of Afyonkarahisar, sees its reeds collected and exported to many countries including England and the Netherlands. Reeds harvested from the lake are processed at a facility near Derekarabağ village and exported to numerous European countries, with England and the Netherlands being the primary destinations. Domestically, reeds are mainly used for gazebo construction and interior decoration, while abroad they are exported as roofing and insulation material. The collected reeds are baled to uniform lengths at company facilities, then loaded onto agricultural vehicles called "patpat" and transferred to transportation centers for trucking.
