In the 2024 citrus season, by week 25, Peru experienced a 18% decrease in citrus exports compared to the same period in the previous year, totaling 72,589 tons with an FOB value of US$ 92,078,463. Tahiti lemons were the most exported citrus fruit, accounting for 34% of the total shipments. The primary markets for these exports were North America, receiving 58% of the total placements, followed by Europe, Latin America, and Asia, which accounted for 18%, 19%, and 5% respectively. The report also highlighted the top five exporting companies and the main importers, including Procesadora Laran, Consorcio de Productos de Fruta, Coexa, Asesoría e Inversiones Muva, Sociedad Agrícola Rapel, Andean Sun Produce, Pacific Produce (UK), Walmart Stores, LGS Specialty Sales, and William H Kopke Jr.
