Report: Support for village production functions has decreased

Rural residents expressed their views, among other things, on the role that agricultural and production functions of the village play. They also declared how they would currently vote on Poland's membership in the European Union. We return to the report from this year's edition of the study "Polish Village and Agriculture." It was based on 2,550 interviews conducted with residents of rural areas. As emphasized in it, consistently over the years, the most important role of rural areas in Poland, according to village residents, is production (69.6 percent of all indications), followed by environmental protection (56.7 percent) and cultural heritage protection (38.7 percent). "However, compared to the previous year, support for the production functions of the village fell by 4.8 percent, which is not a favorable change in the context of the need to ensure food security," the report stated.
