The House of Representatives is set to vote on a $500 million agreement between the Egyptian government and the Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX) to supply wheat to the General Authority for Supply Commodities over the next five years. The agreement is part of a revolving financing program that can be renewed annually, with a maximum annual limit of $100 million. The borrowing must be backed by a sovereign guarantee from the Ministry of Finance, and the supply will be handled by Al Dhahra Agricultural Company. The agreement also outlines terms for repayment and early repayment, and stipulates that the General Authority for Supply Commodities will pay all administrative expenses if the loan agreement is not completed or canceled for any reason.
