Retailers are exploring various countries to import bananas to Russia

Russian retail chains are exploring the possibility of importing bananas from different countries in order to diversify sources of supply and reduce dependence on Ecuador. This was announced to TASS by the chairman of the presidium of the Association of Retail Trade Companies (AKORT, unites the largest Russian retailers) Igor Karavaev. Ecuador is the main supplier of bananas to Russia; products from this country traditionally account for more than 95% of banana imports.
