Revenue from the production of medicinal and aromatic plants amounted to 1.2 million TL.

In Samsun, farmers earned 1 million 227 thousand TL from the production of medicinal and aromatic plants. The Amasya Forest Region Directorate continues its work to develop forestry activities in Samsun. One of the activities carried out in the 389 thousand 478 hectares of forested area is the production of medicinal and aromatic plants. In the Samsun region, many medicinal and aromatic plants such as black cherry, hawthorn, jujube, island tea, rock rose, and blue berry are produced, generating income. In this context, 1 million 227 thousand TL was earned from the production of medicinal and aromatic plants in the first 9 months of the year in Samsun. On the other hand, there is a laurel forest of 25 thousand decares in Samsun. In these forests, 2 thousand 500 tons of laurel leaves are collected annually, providing 50 million TL of income to the forest villagers. Additionally, in the forests inventoried in Çarşamba, Havza, and Kavak, 70 kilograms of truffle mushrooms, most of which are exported abroad, were collected, contributing to the economy.
