Last week saw a significant increase in the average prices of cucumbers and bell peppers, driving them above the five-year average, as reported by the Association of Belgian Horticultural Cooperatives. Despite this, tomato prices have consistently remained above the five-year average for a long time, especially for bell peppers this year. In contrast, head lettuce, multicolor, and lamb's lettuce prices fell below the five-year average, and strawberry prices also fell below average despite an increase. Tomato volumes were higher than the previous year, the first time in a while, although they still fell short of volumes in the same period in 2020.
