The Indonesian government is taking steps to achieve food self-sufficiency by targeting the absorption of 3 million tons of grain, equivalent to rice, by April 2025. The Minister of Agriculture has urged Perum Bulog to purchase grain from farmers at the government's set price to maintain national food stability and ensure farmer welfare. The government has also increased the rice milling degree from 100 percent to 95 percent to facilitate processing and distribution. Bulog's President Director has expressed readiness to optimally carry out this task and has also sought collaboration for additional storage warehouses. A budget of IDR 16 trillion has been provided to support the absorption of rice.
