(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Yoon-gu = The "2025 Our Rice, Our Sake K-RiceFesta," an event aimed at promoting liquor and processed foods made from domestic rice, opened for a three-day schedule on the 28th at KINTEX in Ilsan, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.
Organized by the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, this K-RiceFesta features over 200 types of liquor made from domestic rice, such as distilled liquor, makgeolli, and akcheongju, as well as processed foods made from rice and wine made using domestic agricultural products.
In addition to popular experiences from last year, such as making makgeolli, searching for golden rice, and the domestic agricultural products food art competition, there are various programs including a talk concert, finding your liquor MBTI, a Ju-An award ceremony, and a docent tour.
You can also meet the award-winning products from the K-RiceFesta product evaluation committee.
The National Agricultural Cooperative Federation evaluated 780 entries from 470 companies and selected 28 products in seven categories.
To support the sales channels for the award-winning products, the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation plans to hold special sales events at six major Hanaro Marts in the metropolitan area (Goyang, Seongnam, Suwon, Dongtan, Yangjae, Changdong) and on the Nonghyup Mall until the end of the year.
President Kang Ho-dong of the National Agricultural Cooperatives Federation said, "Through the K-RiceFesta, we will promote the value of our rice and drive the growth of the sake and rice processed food industry," and added, "We will make every effort to enhance the value of our rice by regularizing the K-RiceFesta, the largest domestic festival themed around rice."
