Paraguay is looking to expand the markets for its rice due to improved logistics and a recovery from pandemic setbacks. The country's rice can compete with any in the world due to its quality. Potential new markets include Mexico, Central American countries, Italy, Israel, and Lithuania. This year, Brazil is expected to import a larger volume of Paraguayan rice, while Chile may provide better pricing during the rice harvest. Despite an increase in volume, the value of Paraguay's rice exports has decreased by 6% this year, reaching 556,003 tons valued at USD 194.6 million. National rice has been exported to 29 markets, with Brazil being the largest recipient at 83%.
