[Son Min-jeong, Korea Farmers Newspaper] As the shortage of manpower in rural welfare settings has become severe, concerns have been raised that regions lack the capacity to prepare for integrated care. It is suggested that establishing regional welfare corporations, among other measures, is crucial to ensure the income of care personnel and create local jobs. The monthly discussion meeting of the Korea Rural Welfare Research Institute was held on the 16th at the Agricultural Technology Promotion Center in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, with the theme "Considering Life in the Countryside: The Role and Challenges of Rural Welfare." The presenter, Bae Chung-jin, the representative of Songam Sunkyo Welfare Foundation, noted that while the implementation of the Integrated Care Support Act is imminent, local communities lack the foundation to accept it, making preparation almost non-existent.
