Rural women's associations are a voice and support for that part of society that denounces that even today in the villages, the wage gap, lack of opportunities, female invisibility, and lack of support for entrepreneurship are more severe, a reality that hinders the common challenge of keeping villages alive.
The UN established the International Day of Rural Women 18 years ago to highlight their "crucial" role and to focus on these women who keep villages alive, not only in Spain, but all over the world.
From the Association of Women of Agro-Food Cooperatives of Spain (Amcae), they have valued the effort and involvement of women farmers and livestock cooperators who "work every day for the development of the territories."
This year, their commitment "not only focuses on bringing quality products to the consumer's table, but also on building a social model in which the female cooperator has greater visibility..."
