Russia extends rice export ban until end of year

(By Planeta Arroz) The Russian government today extended until the end of the year the ban on rice exports that it imposed in July 2022 to protect the domestic market. “The restriction will be in force until December 31, 2024. The decision was taken to maintain the stability of the national food market”, informed the Cabinet of Ministers on its Telegram channel. The measure will not affect exports to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, which includes, in addition to Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The government provision will not apply to the supply of rice abroad for the provision of humanitarian assistance nor will it affect its transportation in international transit.
