Russia has become the largest importer of Turkish stone fruit

According to a survey by the US Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS), Russia is the top importer of cherries, peaches and nectarines from Turkey based on 2022/2023 results. Referring to data from Trade Data Monitor, the authors of the review report that Russia imported 25,169 thousand tons of cherries from Turkey in 2022/2023, compared to 23,117 thousand tons the year before. The share of Russian purchases exceeded 40% of total exports from Turkey, which amounted to 57,915 thousand tons.
