According to the head of the National Meat Association, Sergei Yushin, Russia will export more than one million tons of meat, valued at over 2 billion dollars, by 2025. He also noted that 20 years ago, the share of imported poultry meat in the Russian market was about 70%, while pork and beef accounted for 40%. Currently, virtually no pork is imported into Russia, while its exports will reach approximately 400,000 tons annually.
"This year, according to our preliminary estimates, Russia will export more than one million tons of all types of meat, including processed products and live animals, valued at over 2 billion dollars. Russia has become the world's fourth largest country in terms of production volume," Yushin observed.
