In November 2024, Russia achieved a record high of US$148.7 million in crab exports to China, a 44% increase from the previous year and 50% increase from the previous month, setting a new high in monthly trade between the two countries. The total trade volume of crabs between China and Russia reached US$993 million in the first 11 months of 2024, a 4% increase from the same period last year. Russia's high-end seafood products, especially crabs, are experiencing significant growth in the Chinese market. The Russian Crab Company (RCC), the largest king crab fishing company in Russia, plays a key role in promoting exports to China. The demand for sea crabs in the Chinese market is increasing, and Chinese consumers are paying more attention to product quality and brand, providing Russian exporters with opportunities to deepen brand building. Despite strong market demand, price fluctuations remain a concern in the industry.
