Russia's consumer safety watchdog, Rospotrebnadzor, has reprimanded local dairy manufacturers for a breach of food labeling regulations. The violation involves the misleading practice of showing the weight of milk, kefir, and yoghurts in kilograms instead of the correct measure in liters. This strategy is used by companies to cut costs and reduce the apparent size of their products. In response, the agency has recommended that dairy product packages should carry both weight and volume information to give consumers accurate and clear pricing and portion details.
