A Russian supplier has announced a suspension of operations in anticipation of the Chinese New Year, which falls earlier this year than usual. The current price for pollock in China is around $1,200 per ton, while in Russia, it ranges from $1,120 to $1,130 per ton. Import data shows that China imported 449,585 tons of pollock from Russia in October, a decrease from the same period last year, with an average price of $978 per ton, nearly hitting a record low since 2017. Russia's pollock H&G production forecast for 2024 is 718,000 tons, a decrease from 736,000 tons in 2020, and is expected to rise to 763,000 tons in 2025. The market in 2025 is predicted to be influenced by US prices, which are expected to rise in the first quarter of 2025. However, slow sales in Germany at the current price of $2,580 per ton (excluding tax) may impact the price of new goods next year.
