Parana, Brazil's second largest safrinha corn producing state, has planted 77% of its safrinha corn, a slight increase from 16% the previous week. However, this is behind the 94% planted at the same time last year. The delay is due to the soybean harvest being delayed by wet weather, with 60% harvested compared to 75% last year. As a result, only 15% of Brazil’s 2022/23 safrinha corn acreage is expected to come from Parana, with Mato Grosso accounting for 46%. So far, 91% of the safrinha corn has been planted nationwide.
