In Brazil, sales of the Sugar-Alcohol Complex maintain a high trajectory

From January to May 2021, exports by the State of São Paulo totaled US$ 20.17 billion and imports, US$ 26.73 billion, registering a trade deficit of US$ 6.56 billion, according to the Secretary of Agriculture and Supply of the State of São Paulo, through the Agricultural Economics Institute (IEA/Apta). In the analysis by sector, agribusiness in São Paulo showed an increase in exports (+9.4%), reaching US$ 7.42 billion, and a drop in imports (-0.5%), totaling US$ 1.89 billion; with these results, a surplus of US$ 5.53 billion was obtained, an amount 13.3% higher than the same period in 2020, highlight Marli Dias Mascarenhas Oliveira, José Alberto Angelo and Carlos Nabil Ghobril, researchers at the IEA.
