The Philippines has been a consistent supplier of pineapples to Iran for the past decade, with volumes growing by almost sixfold, making it the largest producer of pineapples, followed by Costa Rica. Direct chartered vessels from the Philippines to Iran have helped maintain the supply, making Filipino pineapples the top choice in the Iranian market. However, the return of sanctions and the halt in shipping services have affected the import of the N36 pineapple variety from Malaysia. Despite these challenges, pineapple imports from Latin America still reach Iran via Mersin in Turkey.
