Brazil: Santa Catarina achieves best performance of the year in meat exports in April

In April, Santa Catarina achieved its best performance of the year in meat exports, recording significant increases in both the number of tons exported and the revenue generated. A total of 173.2 thousand tons of meat, which includes chicken, pigs, turkeys, ducks, mallards, beef, among others, were exported, representing an increase of 11.7% compared to the previous month and 14.5% compared to April 2023. In terms of revenue, the state recorded growth of 15.5% compared to March and 6.0% compared to April of the previous year, totaling US$358.3 million. Santa Catarina stood out especially in pork exports, being responsible for 57.6% of the quantity and 59.7% of revenues from Brazilian exports in the first four months of 2024.
