Scottish auction market: Cod prices rebound across the board, while saithe prices decline In the two major fish markets in Scotland—Peterhead and Shetland—cod prices saw a general rebound in the 36th week. In the Peterhead market, the price of large-sized A1 cod (over 7 kg), head and guts removed, increased by 10% compared to the previous week, while A2-sized cod (4-7 kg) saw a 14% increase. Smaller-sized cod also saw a general price increase, driving the overall average price up week-on-week. This trend was also confirmed in Shetland, where all weight categories of cod saw price increases except for the 500g to 1kg small-sized cod, which declined by 9%. In contrast to the strong rise in cod prices, the performance of saithe in the Scottish market was clearly weak.
