Seasonal fruits ease the consumer's wallet in MS

Between December 15 and 20, the CEASA/MS bulletin recorded an increase in prices for fruits and vegetables such as passion fruit and carrots, influenced by rainfall and lower supply in producing regions. In contrast, the lychee and pitaya harvest ensures competitive prices for the consumer in Mato Grosso do Sul. According to the Market and Supply Division (Dimer) of CEASA/MS, the highlight of the price increase this week was the sour passion fruit, with a variation of 8.33% – the 10 kg box went from R$ 120.00 to R$ 130.00. The main cause is the drop in supply in Bahia, a state that concentrates a large part of the national production of the fruit. Another item that showed appreciation was the carrot. The 20 kg box, coming from MG and SP, went from R$ 130.00 to R$ 140.00, reflecting the reduction in harvest due to rainfall in the producing regions.
