Second-class long/black aubergines are back on the market in Spain after good price developments in recent days

The Crisis Committee of the Interprofessional Organisation of Fruits and Vegetables of Andalusia (Hortyfruta) has lifted the ban on the sale of second categories of long/black aubergine for fresh consumption, effective from 30 October. This decision comes after the successful implementation of the ban and the satisfactory resolution of all inspections. Hortyfruta commends the cooperative behavior of producers and companies during the ban. The organisation will continue to monitor the market trends of horticultural products and assess the measures to be taken for each product. Hortyfruta, in partnership with the Andalusian Ministry of Agriculture, will oversee the compliance of the agreement for the Establishment of Quality Standards in the facilities of companies marketing the topping products in Andalusia.
