The latest export figures from the Dutch Potato Organization, NAO, show that so far much more Dutch seed has been exported than around this time last year. However, this increase is not reflected on all continents. In total, 536,957 tons of seed potatoes have been exported up to and including February. For comparison in February 2022, this was 491,464 tonnes. An increase of 45,493 tons. However, potato exports within the EU show a slight contraction. Last year around this time, the export of Dutch seed potatoes amounted to 188,011 tons and this year 181,168 tons. A negative difference of 6,843 tons. The decrease in seed potato exports within the EU is mainly reflected in Germany, 20,083 tons now and 25,291 tons in February 2022, and Italy, with 36,634 tons now and 42,418 tons in February 2022. On the other hand, there are a number of EU countries to which the export of Dutch seed potatoes has risen slightly. These include Belgium (36,617 tons), France (8,934 tons) and Greece (8,735 tons).
