Representing Senacsa, the director general of the General Directorate of Laboratories of the National Service of Animal Health and Quality (Digelab), Dr. Elizabeth Oviedo, and her team composed of specialized technicians, participated, in addition to the accompaniment of representatives from the laboratory. The enabling of the plant would strengthen the country's autonomy in terms of health prevention and contribute to national programs for the eradication of bovine brucellosis, a zoonotic disease of high impact on animal health. The biosecurity laboratory is the only one in the national biotechnological industry sector dedicated to the production of vaccines against brucellosis, with a production capacity of 350,000 doses per month.
