Sheep from Greece detained without ear tags and documents

The Border Police officers of the "Kulata" have detained a motor vehicle with 22 sheep. They are of Greek origin and were transported illegally. The problem was reported to the Regional Directorate of Food Safety - Blagoevgrad on January 25 in the afternoon. During the inspection, it was found that the animals were not accompanied by veterinary documents for intra-community trade, including a health certificate issued through the TRACES electronic system. In addition, the animals were without ear tags, and the vehicle used for transportation was not registered under the Veterinary Medical Activity Act. The persons accompanying the animals also did not possess certificates of competency as drivers and animal companions.
