Significant increase in Brazilian exports at the beginning of the year

In Brazil, the growing trend in pork exports continues. After ending last year on a positive note, Brazilian exporters have increased their pork exports at the beginning of 2024. In January and February of this year, 197,500 t of pork were exported (considering all products, including fresh and processed ), almost 17.6% more than in the first two months of 2023, where exports were 167,900 t, according to data from the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA). Due to lower sales prices, export income in those months increased more moderately, specifically by 1.9%, to the equivalent of 371 million euros. Last February was the best in the history of Brazilian pork exports, reaching almost 100,000 tons, specifically 97,800 tons. Exports rose by 24% compared to February 2023.
