Russia has seen a rise in meal exports, with over 2.7 million tons exported from the start of the 2023/24 season to April, an increase from the previous season's 2.4 million tons. The country exported 1.76 million tons of sunflower meal, 615 thousand tons of soybean meal, and 370 thousand tons of rapeseed meal in the first eight months of the 2023/24 season. Demand for domestic meal remains high, with the export-to-domestic-consumption ratio being approximately 30% to 70%. The main importers of Russian meal are Türkiye, Belarus, and China, with the European Union also being a significant market, albeit with a decreasing share. By the end of the year, the capacity of Russian butter factories is expected to increase by over 6%.
