The Dairy Industry Union of Rio Grande do Sul (Sindilat) is planning to export dairy products to Chile, with a delegation of member companies to be sent to the Espacio Food & Service fair in Santiago. The initiative, backed by Apex Brasil, aims to increase the value of dairy products and decrease reliance on domestic demand. In 2021, Brazil exported 2,570 tons of dairy products to Chile, 34.48% of which came from Rio Grande do Sul, and the growth in exports has continued into 2022. Mozzarella cheese is the most popular dairy product exported from the region to Chile.
