A new agricultural association, the Union of Snail Breeders, has been established in Russia by farmer Sergei Balayev. The organization is designed for those involved in the domestic snail farming industry, including breeders, restaurateurs, and manufacturers of agricultural equipment. It will provide support and information to members. Currently, the industry includes about 200 farms and produces two types of snails, Müller and Maxima, which are supplied to retail chains in processed form. The production of snail meat was recently recognized as an official agricultural product in Russia.
