Soc Trang province in Vietnam is enhancing the shrimp-rice farming model to enhance local income and living standards. The National Center for Agricultural Extension and the Soc Trang Agricultural Extension Center have launched a 15-household pilot of this model, receiving positive feedback from participants. The model, which includes detailed shrimp farming instructions and sustainable practices like VietGAP standards and without using antibiotics, has shown to be profitable and sustainable. The center aims to extend this project to other coastal provinces and the Mekong Delta to improve shrimp farming efficiency and sustainability.
